Cities We Serve in Washington

Vancouver, WA — Our Home Base

We work throughout Vancouver — from historic homes in Uptown Village and Hough to newer construction in Cascade Park, Fisher's Landing, and East Vancouver. Vancouver's mix of mid-century, 1970s-80s, and modern builds means we see every kind of remodel, addition, and exterior project. Common Vancouver services: kitchen and bath remodels, roof replacements, window upgrades, ADUs on larger lots.

Hazel Dell

Just north of Vancouver, Hazel Dell homes are typically 1960s-90s construction. Common needs: roof replacement (aging asphalt shingles), original single-pane window upgrades, kitchen and bath modernization, and dry-rot repair during siding replacement. Larger lot sizes than central Vancouver make additions and ADUs viable options.

Salmon Creek

Salmon Creek's newer developments and established neighborhoods both benefit from proactive exterior work — roofing, siding upgrades, and increasingly, ADUs to accommodate multi-generational families. Larger lots here make detached ADUs a strong option. Common services: comprehensive exterior packages (roof + siding + windows), primary suite additions, and outdoor living builds.

Brush Prairie

Rural Brush Prairie properties are ideal for detached ADUs, outbuildings, and custom home projects. We're comfortable working outside city utility zones — septic, well, and setback requirements are part of every rural build we do. Common services: custom homes, additions, deck and outdoor living construction on wooded acreage.

Battle Ground

Battle Ground's growth means both new construction and remodels of established homes. Popular services here: custom homes, additions to accommodate growing families, and comprehensive exterior packages (roof + siding + windows in one project). We know Battle Ground's permit process well.

Hockinson

Rural Hockinson properties often need larger-scale work — deck and outdoor living builds, additions, custom homes, and outbuilding construction. Large lots, mature trees, and varied grade mean thoughtful site planning matters. We handle rural sites with the same detail as urban ones.

Ridgefield

One of Clark County's fastest-growing cities. New neighborhoods and rural properties keep us busy with custom homes, ADUs, and full-scope remodels. Ridgefield's rapid growth means many homeowners are adding to homes they bought expecting to be their "starter house" and now plan to stay in.

La Center

La Center's rural character and larger lots make it a strong market for custom homes, additions, and detached ADUs. Wooded parcels often require careful tree preservation planning. Common services: custom rural homes, ADUs, and additions.

Camas

Camas's premium market and historic downtown mean high-end remodels, kitchen and bath renovations, and additions that must match architectural character. Extra care with detail work, matching trim profiles, and material selection is standard here. Popular services: high-end kitchen and bath remodels, additions, wood-clad window replacements for historic homes, and cedar or standing seam metal roofing.

Washougal

Riverfront and hillside Washougal homes often need specialized exterior work — roofing that handles weather exposure, siding with proper moisture management, and decks built for grade and view. Riverfront properties come with unique considerations we're set up to handle.

Woodland

On the northern edge of our service area, Woodland projects range from custom rural homes to remodels of established properties. We travel here regularly for larger-scope work — custom homes, additions, and comprehensive remodels.

Services Available Throughout Southwest Washington

Washington Licensing & Permits

We're licensed to work throughout Washington State and handle all permit applications with the appropriate jurisdiction. Depending on your project location, permits may be pulled through:

  • City of Vancouver Community Development

  • Clark County Community Development — for unincorporated areas (Hazel Dell, Brush Prairie, Hockinson, parts of Salmon Creek and Orchards)

  • City Building Departments: Battle Ground, Ridgefield, Camas, Washougal, La Center, Woodland

You never deal with the permit office directly — we handle it start to finish, including scheduling inspections.

Common Washington-specific requirements we handle:

  • Washington energy code compliance (among the strictest in the country)

  • Seismic bracing on older homes

  • Historic overlay requirements in older neighborhoods (Uptown Vancouver, Camas historic district)

  • ADU-specific zoning, setback, and utility connection rules

  • Stormwater requirements on new impervious surfaces

  • Rural site requirements — septic, well, and setback compliance

Southwest Washington Contractor FAQ

Do I need a permit for my project in Clark County?
Most structural work, roofing replacement, additions, and decks over 30 inches require permits in Clark County. Interior cosmetic remodels often don't. Fences under 7 feet usually don't require permits. We tell you exactly what's required during the estimate and handle all paperwork and inspections.

How does Washington's climate affect construction choices?
Our wet climate demands proper moisture management: rain screens behind siding, adequate roof ventilation, quality window flashing, and pressure-treated or steel-post fence construction. We build for the Pacific Northwest, not a generic national spec sheet.

Do you work in both Vancouver and rural Clark County?
Yes. We're comfortable in urban Vancouver, suburban Salmon Creek and Camas, and rural areas like Brush Prairie, Hockinson, La Center, and outer Ridgefield. Rural projects require different planning — septic setbacks, well protection, longer material deliveries — and we're set up for it.

How far north do you travel?
We regularly serve up through Woodland. For projects further north, contact us and we'll be straight with you about whether we're the right fit or can refer you to someone who is.

Are you licensed in Washington State?
Yes. IVY Contracting is a Washington-licensed and insured general contractor. Full license and insurance details are available on request.

Can you handle a full exterior project — roof, siding, and windows together?
Yes, and it's often the smartest way to do it. Combining exterior projects saves on setup costs, permits, and coordination, and ensures the flashing and moisture details all integrate correctly. One contractor, one warranty, one accountable point of contact.

How quickly can you start a project in Clark County?
Depending on scope and season, small exterior projects (fencing, deck repair, small roof jobs) can often start within 2-4 weeks. Larger remodels, additions, and custom homes typically require 1-3 months of design, permitting, and scheduling before construction begins. We'll give you honest timelines during the estimate.

Do you offer 3D renderings for Washington projects?
Yes. Every major project — custom homes, ADUs, kitchen and bath remodels, additions — includes high-end 3D visual renderings so you see the finished space before construction starts.

Do you handle historic homes in Camas and Uptown Vancouver?
Yes. Historic homes need contractors who understand both the character worth preserving and the systems that need modernizing. We handle knob-and-tube replacement, seismic upgrades, matching trim profiles, and period-appropriate finishes.
